"On his first day as a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, new ranking member on the East Asian and Pacific Affairs Subcommittee Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) greeted President Obama’s ambassador to China nominee, Jon Huntsman, in the committee’s anteroom moments before the Utah governor’s confirmation hearing," we’re told.
Then, directly thereafter, Inhofe turned to his staffer and asked, "Are any of the nominees here yet?"
Well, yeah, Huntsman, for one.
As the Inhofe staffer motioned to Huntsman, "an embarrassed Inhofe attempted to repair the damage with a joke," we’re told, and Huntsman joked back: “It’s OK. Sometimes even my wife doesn’t recognize me.”
