WaPo names Stuever daily TV critic; Shales will launch new column

The Washington Post announced today that veteran Style writer Hank Stuever will take over as the paper’s daily television critic, a position held by Tom Shales for three decades.

Shales will start a new Style column where he’ll take "on a broader role of culture critic, writing not just on all things television but from a 30,000-foot perspective on our culture and the forces that shape it," according to a staff memo obtained by POLITICO. There will also be a blog component.
